Carrosserie- en bekledingsmaterialen
Common stainless steel descriptions include 304, 316 en 316L, but an order should identify the actual material grade for each main part, including whether the body is cast or forged. Body and trim need not be the same material. Stem and seating materials are selected for the service and wear requirements. Stellite, Bijvoorbeeld, is a cobalt-based hardfacing alloy family, not a stainless steel grade. If your valve list specifies trim materials, include them rather than describing the assembly only as “316 stainless steel”.
Druk- en temperatuurwaarden
RVS schuifafsluiters are supplied in different pressure classes and PN ratings. A Class number is a rating designation, not a fixed working pressure in psi. Use the applicable pressure-temperature data for the selected material and construction, and compare it with the project conditions. Cryogenic and high-temperature duties need suitable complete designs; a generic stainless steel description does not establish a single temperature range for every valve.
Beëindig de verbinding

Project specifications may refer to ASME B16.34 for valve construction and pressure-temperature requirements, API 600 for its defined steel gate valve designs, or ISO 15761 for certain smaller steel valves. They have different scopes rather than being interchangeable labels. Additional requirements such as fire testing to an applicable standard or fugitive-emissions qualification to ISO 15848 should be agreed for the actual valve design. API 607 is a fire-test standard, not a general fire-protection approval. For cryogenic duty, agree the applicable service standard and test requirements before ordering.

Compare the valve specification and operating arrangement together. A manual isolation valve in an accessible line and an electrically operated valve on a remote pipe rack may need the same body material but different supporting equipment. Include the available power and control requirements where actuation forms part of the order.
