A Supported Ball, a Different Seat Arrangement
With the ball held in position, the seats provide the sealing contact around it. Supporting the ball changes the loads acting through the valve and can help manage operating torque as valve size and pressure increase.
That does not mean every trunnion valve has the same seats, bore or pressure rating. The model’s materials and construction remain important, particularly where temperature, corrosion or frequent operation influence the choice.
Le Q347F cast steel model uses gear operation for manual isolation. If you are comparing it with a robinet à tournant sphérique flottant, start with the line conditions and how the valve will be operated, then compare the individual specifications.
