Stop check valves combine the features of a lift check valve and a globe valve. They allow fluid to flow in one direction and close to prevent backflow.

Stop check valves are typically designed with a disc or piston that moves up and down to open and close the valve. When the valve is closed, the disc or piston is pressed against the valve seat to prevent fluid from flowing through. When the valve is open, the disc or piston is lifted to allow fluid to flow through the valve.

This type valves are commonly used in applications where it is important to control the flow of fluid and prevent backflow, such as in power generation, chemical processing, and oil and gas pipelines.

Types of Stop Check Valves

Lift type stop check valve: This type of valve has a disk that lifts to allow flow in one direction and then seats to prevent backflow. The lift type stop check valve is commonly used in steam and water applications.

Swing type stop check valve: This type of valve has a hinged disk that swings open to allow flow in one direction and then swings closed to prevent backflow. The swing type stop check valve is commonly used in liquid applications.
